# Delete a Kafka Schema by Subject Name

`DELETE /v2/databases/{database_cluster_uuid}/schema-registry/{subject_name}`

To delete a specific schema by subject name for a Kafka cluster, send a DELETE request to
`/v2/databases/$DATABASE_ID/schema-registry/$SUBJECT_NAME`.

## Path parameters

- `database_cluster_uuid` string, uuid, required
- `subject_name` string, required

## Response `204`

The action was successful and the response body is empty.

## Other responses

- `401` — Authentication failed due to invalid credentials.
- `404` — The resource was not found.
- `429` — The API rate limit has been exceeded.
- `500` — There was a server error.
