# Update basic PHP directives

`GET /LangPHP/php_ini_set_user_basic_directives`

This function sets the values of any basic PHP directive. The *Basic Mode* section of cPanel's
[*MultiPHP INI Editor*](https://go.cpanel.net/whmdocsMultiPHPINIEditor) interface (*WHM >> Home >> Software >> MultiPHP INI Editor*) lists these directives.

**Note:**

  This document **only** applies to systems that run EasyApache 4 with MultiPHP enabled.

**Important:**

  When you disable the [Web Server role](https://go.cpanel.net/serverroles), the system **disables** this function.

## Query parameters

- `directive` string, required
- `type` 'home' | 'vhost', required
- `vhost` string, domain

## Response `200`

HTTP Request was successful.

  - `apiversion` integer — The version of the API.
  - `func` string — The name of the method called.
  - `module` string — The name of the module called.
  - `result` object
    - `data` unknown
    - `errors` string[], nullable — List of errors if the API failed.
    - `messages` string[], nullable — List of messages generated by the API.
    - `metadata` object
      - `LangPHP` object — An object containing the virtual host's PHP directive information.
        - `path` string, path — The absolute file path to the `php.ini` file.
        - `phpversion` string — The virtual host's installed version of PHP.
        - `type` 'home' | 'vhost' — The type of `php.ini` file. * `home` * `vhost`
        - `vhost` string — The virtual host's name.
    - `status` 0 | 1 — * `1` - Success. * `0` - Failed. Check the `errors` field for more details.
    - `warnings` string[], nullable — List of warnings generated by the API. Warnings describe non-critical failures or other problematic conditions noted while running a API.
