# Create a text snippet

`POST /settings/text_snippets.json`

Outlines the parameters and data fields used when creating a new TextSnippet

## Query parameters

- `fields` string

## Headers

- `X-API-VERSION` string

## Request body

- object
  - `data` object, required
    - `phrase` string, required — The phrase expanded to from a TextSnippet.
    - `snippet` string, required — The abbreviation that expands to a phrase.
    - `whole_word` boolean — Whether or not the TextSnippet requires a space after to trigger the expansion.

## Response `201`
