# Send image message

`POST /v2/messages/image`

Send an image message via WhatsApp Official. The image URL is sent directly to the Meta API (no upload required). Returns immediately with QUEUED status.

## Headers

- `api-token` string, required

## Request body

- object
  - `channel_account_id` string, uuid, required — UUID of the WhatsApp Official channel account
  - `contact_id` string, uuid, required — UUID of the contact to send the image to
  - `url` string, uri, required — Direct URL of the image to send
  - `caption` string — Optional caption for the image
  - `chat_id` string, uuid — Optional UUID of an existing chat. If not provided, the system will find or create a chat automatically.

## Response `200`

Image message queued for sending

    - `message_id` string, uuid — UUID of the created message
    - `chat_id` string, uuid — UUID of the chat (existing or newly created)
    - `status` 'QUEUED' — Initial message status

## Other responses

- `400` — Validation error
- `401` — Authentication error - invalid or missing api-token
- `404` — Resource not found
