# Start Precompute Build

`POST /v2/precompute/build`

Start a build, which publishes what it writes when it finishes.

Returns the queued job; poll ``/build/{id}`` for progress.

## Request body

- BuildRequest
  - `artifacts` string[], nullable — Artifact names to build; all of them when omitted.
  - `force` boolean — Rebuild even when the published payload already matches.
  - `dry_run` boolean — Scan and report sizes without staging anything.
  - `resume` boolean — Publish payloads an earlier build already staged at this version instead of scanning for them again. Separate from force, which governs what is published rather than what is merely staged.
  - `triggered_by` string, nullable — Operator identity, recorded on the job.
