# Update a comment on a journal entry

`PUT /companies/{companyId}/journal-entries/{journalEntryId}/comments/{commentId}`

Updates a comment on a journal entry. Only comments created by the same integration can be updated.

Comments are plain text only. Rich text, markdown, and HTML are not supported.

**Scope:** `journal-entries:write`

## Request body

- JournalEntryCommentWrite — Request body for creating or updating a comment on a journal entry.
  - `content` string, required — The plain text content of the comment. Rich text, markdown, and HTML are not supported.

## Response `200`

Comment updated

- JournalEntryComment — A comment on a journal entry.
  - `id` string, uuid — Unique identifier of the comment
  - `content` string — The plain text content of the comment
  - `authorName` string — Display name of the comment author (integration name or user name)
  - `createdDatetime` string, date-time — When the comment was created (UTC)
  - `updatedDatetime` string, date-time — When the comment was last updated (UTC)

## Other responses

- `400` — Validation error or operation not allowed
- `404` — Journal entry or comment not found
