# Update campaign settings

`PATCH /contacts/campaigns/{campaignId}`

Update campaign name, description, context, schedule, limits, or daily targets. NEVER pass `status` here — the server rejects it; use campaign_transition for start/pause/resume/complete/reset..

## Path parameters

- `campaignId` string, required

## Request body

- object
  - `name` string
  - `description` string
  - `status` 'draft' | 'scheduled' | 'running' | 'paused' | 'completed' | 'failed'
  - `scheduledStartTime` string
  - `scheduledStopTime` string
  - `timezone` string
  - `runDays` string[] — Days the campaign runs user-action tasks. Use lowercase day names (e.g. monday, tuesday); pick at least one.
  - `dailyActionLimit` integer, nullable
  - `dailyTarget` integer, nullable
  - `totalTarget` integer, nullable
  - `disabledTaskTypes` string[] — Task types to disable (e.g. ['discover-qualify', 'outreach-draft', 'connect-send']). Set to [] to re-enable all.
  - `draftMode` 'review' | 'autopilot' — review: all agent actions create drafts for user approval. autopilot: agent sends directly without review.
  - `autopilot` boolean — Enable or disable LLM-backed agent tasks (qualification, drafting, outreach) for this campaign. false disables all AI tasks even if the user has keys configured.
  - `language` string — ISO 639-1 language code (e.g. 'fr', 'en'). Overrides ASCII heuristic for AI task language.
  - `qualifyThreshold` integer
  - `limits` object — Per-action daily caps stored on the campaign and shown in settings. Display-only while a campaign runs: they are checked at launch (assert-ready) and never enforced per-tick.
    - `messagesPerDay` integer, nullable
    - `connectionsPerDay` integer, nullable
    - `visitsPerDay` integer, nullable
    - `repliesPerDay` integer, nullable

## Response `200`

Campaign updated

  - `campaign` object, required
    - `id` string, required — Campaign unique ID (nanoid). Use this as campaignSlug in API calls.
    - `name` string, required — Human-readable campaign name.
    - `slug` string, nullable — URL-safe slug auto-generated from name.
    - `description` string, nullable, required — Optional user-facing campaign description.
    - `type` string, required — Campaign type (e.g. 'outreach', 'engagement', 'inbox').
    - `status` string, required — Campaign status: running, paused, offline, broken, or completed.
    - `totalContacts` integer, required — Total contacts added to this campaign across all lifecycle stages.
    - `scheduledStartTime` string, nullable — Daily start time (HH:MM)
    - `scheduledStopTime` string, nullable — Daily stop time (HH:MM)
    - `timezone` string, nullable — IANA timezone
    - `runDays` string[], nullable — Days to run (e.g. ['monday','tuesday'])

    - `startedAt` string, nullable — When campaign was first started

    - `draftMode` 'review' | 'autopilot' — Retained field. Under the current model all agent outreach is drafted for approval before sending, regardless of this value.
    - `autopilot` boolean — Whether LLM-backed agent tasks are allowed on this campaign. When false, only deterministic work runs.
    - `stageCounts` object
      - `contact` integer, required
      - `lead` integer, required
      - `qualified` integer, required
      - `rejected` integer, required

## Other responses

- `400` — The server cannot or will not process the request due to something that is perceived to be a client error.
- `401` — Although HTTP specifies "unauthorized", this response means "unauthenticated". Authenticate to continue. NOTE: 401 is also returned with code "linkedin_not_connected" when the caller IS authenticated but has no connected LinkedIn account — connect LinkedIn (not re-authenticate) to continue.
- `403` — The client does not have access rights to the content.
- `404` — The server cannot find the requested resource.
- `409` — The request conflicts with the current state of the server.
- `410` — The requested content has been permanently deleted from the server.
- `422` — The request was well-formed but was unable to be followed due to semantic errors.
- `429` — Rate limit exceeded. Read error.retryAfter for the wait time in seconds.
- `500` — The server encountered a situation it does not know how to handle.
- `502` — LinkedIn returned a server error or the proxy connection failed. Retry after a few seconds.
- `503` — Proxy capacity temporarily exceeded. Retry after a few seconds.
