# PATCH /global-networks/{globalNetworkId}/connections/{connectionId}

`PATCH /global-networks/{globalNetworkId}/connections/{connectionId}`

Updates the information for an existing connection. To remove information for any of the parameters, specify an empty string.

- `globalNetworkId` string, required
- `connectionId` string, required

  - `LinkId` string — The ID of the link for the first device in the connection.
  - `ConnectedLinkId` string — The ID of the link for the second device in the connection.
  - `Description` string — <p>A description of the connection.</p> <p>Length Constraints: Maximum length of 256 characters.</p>

    - `ConnectedDeviceId` string — The ID of the second device in the connection.
    - `LinkId` string — The ID of the link for the first device in the connection.
    - `ConnectedLinkId` string — The ID of the link for the second device in the connection.
    - `Description` string — The description of the connection.
    - `CreatedAt` string, date-time — The date and time that the connection was created.
    - `State` 'PENDING' | 'AVAILABLE' | 'DELETING' | 'UPDATING' — The state of the connection.
    - `Tags` Tag[] — The tags for the connection.
      - `Key` string — <p>The tag key.</p> <p>Constraints: Maximum length of 128 characters.</p>
      - `Value` string — <p>The tag value.</p> <p>Constraints: Maximum length of 256 characters.</p>
