# updateReservation

`PUT /service/v1/reservation/{reservationId}`

Update a reservation.

**Usage Plan:**

The `x-amzn-RateLimit-Limit` response header returns the usage plan rate limits that were applied to the requested operation, when available. The table above indicates the default rate and burst values for this operation. Selling partners whose business demands require higher throughput may see higher rate and burst values than those shown here. ## Request body

- UpdateReservationRequest — Request schema for the `updateReservation` operation.
  - `resourceId` string, required — Resource (store) identifier.
  - `reservation` Reservation, required — Reservation object reduces the capacity of a resource.
    - `reservationId` string — Unique identifier for a reservation. If present, it is treated as an update reservation request and will update the corresponding reservation. Otherwise, it is treated as a new create reservation request.
    - `type` 'APPOINTMENT' | 'TRAVEL' | 'VACATION' | 'BREAK' | 'TRAINING', required — Type of reservation.
    - `availability` AvailabilityRecord, required — `AvailabilityRecord` to represent the capacity of a resource over a time range.
      - `startTime` string, date-time, required — Denotes the time from when the resource is available in a day in ISO-8601 format.
      - `endTime` string, date-time, required — Denotes the time till when the resource is available in a day in ISO-8601 format.
      - `recurrence` Recurrence — Repeated occurrence of an event in a time range.
        - `endTime` string, date-time, required — End time of the recurrence.
        - `daysOfWeek` DayOfWeek[] — Days of the week when recurrence is valid. If the schedule is valid every Monday, input will only contain `MONDAY` in the list.
        - `daysOfMonth` integer[] — Days of the month when recurrence is valid.
      - `capacity` integer — Signifies the capacity of a resource which is available.

- UpdateReservationResponse — Response schema for the `updateReservation` operation.
  - `payload` UpdateReservationRecord — `UpdateReservationRecord` entity contains the `Reservation` if there is an error/warning while performing the requested operation on it, otherwise it will contain the new `reservationId`.
    - `reservation` Reservation — Reservation object reduces the capacity of a resource.

      - `details` string — Additional details that can help the caller understand or address the warning.
    - `errors` Error[] — A list of error responses returned when a request is unsuccessful.
      - `code` string, required — An error code that identifies the type of error that occurred.
      - `message` string, required — A message that describes the error condition.
      - `details` string — Additional details that can help the caller understand or fix the issue.
  - `errors` Error[] — A list of error responses returned when a request is unsuccessful.
    - `code` string, required — An error code that identifies the type of error that occurred.
    - `message` string, required — A message that describes the error condition.
    - `details` string — Additional details that can help the caller understand or fix the issue.

## Other responses

- `400` — Request has missing or invalid parameters and cannot be parsed.
- `403` — Indicates that access to the resource is forbidden. Possible reasons include Access Denied, Unauthorized, Expired Token, or Invalid Signature.
- `404` — The reservation specified does not exist.
- `413` — The request size exceeded the maximum accepted size.
- `415` — The request payload is in an unsupported format.
- `429` — The frequency of requests was greater than allowed.
- `500` — Encountered an unexpected condition which prevented the server from fulfilling the request.
- `503` — Temporary overloading or maintenance of the server.
