# Get group details

`GET /groups/{group_id}`

gets the data for a group specified by the name of the group

## Path parameters

- `group_id` string, required

## Response `200`

successfully retrieved single group

- Group — Logical collection of users within a channel
  - `id` string — uid
  - `name` string — the name of the group
  - `description` string — the description of the group
  - `members_count` integer — member count
  - `created_at` string — when the group was created
  - `updated_at` string — when the group was updated
  - `user_permission` 'read' | 'manage' — permissions types for users * "read" - the group member can only view within the group * "manage" - the group member can both view and edit group and update users
  - `remote` boolean — remote group

## Other responses

- `401` — Unauthenticated, no token is provided or token is invalid
- `403` — Access is forbidden
- `404` — The specified resource was not found
- `500` — Internal server error
