# Edit a playlist folder

`PATCH /playlist-folders/{playlist_folder_id}`

Renames, re-parents or repositions a folder. Anything not sent is left alone. Moving a folder into its own subtree is refused, because it would detach the branch from the tree.

- `playlist_folder_id` string, required

## Query parameters

- `name` string
- `parent` string
- `sort_order` integer

## Request body

- PlaylistFolderEditRequest
  - `name` string
  - `parent` string — New parent as an id or a name path; 0 for the root
  - `sort_order` integer

## Response `200`

The folder that was updated
