# Create Contact Log

`POST /contacts/{contactId}/logs`

Use this endpoint to create a new Log for an existing contact.

This endpoint is rate limited. Use the `RateLimit-*` response headers to check current limits and remaining quota.

## Path parameters

- `contactId` string, uuid, required

## Request body

- ContactLogPost
  - `id` string, uuid — The log's unique ID.
  - `_link` string — Use this URI to perform GET operations on the individual log resource. This link follows the pattern: /v2/contacts/{contactId}/logs/{logId}
  - `logDate` string, date-time — The DateTime for the log. An ISO 8601 string of datetime including the time component and ending with 'Z' (so in UTC). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_8601#Coordinated_Universal_Time_(UTC)
  - `type` 'PhoneCall' | 'SMS' | 'Email' — The Contact Log Type
  - `description` string, nullable — A text with a description of the log.
  - `createdDate` string, date-time — The DateTime when the log was created. An ISO 8601 string of datetime including the time component and ending with 'Z' (so in UTC). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_8601#Coordinated_Universal_Time_(UTC)
  - `createdBy` CompanyUserLink
    - `id` string, uuid — The unique GUID of the AccuLynx User.
    - `_link` string — The unique URI of the AccuLynx User.

- `400` — Bad Request - The server cannot process the request due to a client error. Common causes: - Invalid request format - Missing required fields - Validation errors in the request data
- `401` — Unauthorized - Authentication is required or has failed. Common causes: - Missing API key - Invalid API key - Expired or deactivated API key
- `404` — Not Found - The requested resource does not exist. Common causes: - Invalid subscription ID - Subscription has been deleted - URL path contains typos or incorrect values
- `429` — Too Many Requests
